Happy Australia Day!!!

>> Saturday, January 26, 2013

I wanted to make something for Australia Day ... and had not done so yet.... I thought I'd colour up some of my Gumnuts in ... I printed them lightly so I could have the almost no lines effect... It was a bit darker then I thought but that made it easier for me to colour lol!

Copics used:
Skin: E000, E01, E11, R20.
Hair: E71, E74, E77, E79.
Gumnut hats:  E30, E31, E33, E35.
White top: W1, W3.
Blues: B93, B95, B97.
Reds: R24, R27, R29, R35, R37, R39, R59.
Yellow: Y02, Y08, Y17.

The rest of my page (in my BLACK SMASH book) is using cut-outs from our local newspaper :) CM stickers and Nikki Sivils lettering stickers.... the Splotchy stamp set form TGF and the "Beut" stamp is the end of "Christmas time is Beut" from Kellie's "Give-a-Girl-a" stamps I shoulda got her Australia day ones as they would have been perfect for this, lol.. maybe for next year! :D I think I might try and make Saturday my Smashing day!!! We'll see how that goes!!! :D

Well fellow Aussies... I hope you're having a great day off! Enjoy those days OFF ... and overseas friends -  have a lovely weekend!!! xxxx

Australia Day tomorrow - yay!

>> Friday, January 25, 2013

Well, tomorrow is Australia Day and my diary is all ready for it...

Yes, I still keep a paper diary. I also have an electronic one but sometimes I just find it easier to see the year progressing and the days flying by when the pages keep turning...

Anyway, for my Australia Day page I used this LaLaLand stamp of Luka with a boomerang and coloured him in with my trusty Copics (E50/E51/E53, E71/E77/E79, E18/E42/E47, YG91/YG95, R81/RV95, Y28/Y32, G43/G46).

Have you got your entry in yet?

>> Thursday, January 24, 2013

so we are nearly to the end of this months chhallenge! and only a few days away till Australia Day!!!

And what better way to celebrate that by making another aussie card to share.

This time i used a kookaburra as my inspiration.

I used lawn fawn stamps critters down under for this card, along with a few copic markers.

I also used a lil inkers frame die to cut out the photo frame in white.

I hope you liked this card.
Do not forget that you can still enter the challenge over in the right sidebar.

Australia = gum trees

>> Thursday, January 17, 2013

The January challenge got me thinking about what Australia means to me. Australia to me has always meant freedom, bush, beach, sun, surf, BBQs. What symbolises Australia for me is gum trees.  I saw a great image in a Christmas colouring book I copied part of it and modified it. I think I will make it into a card. But I haven't got around to it yet!
copics used
E31, E33, E35, E37
G20, G24, G28
R24, R27, R29

What does Australia mean to you?  There is still plenty of time to get creative with your copic markers and enter in our January Challenge.
Look forward to seeing your creations.

Aussie's Abroad

>> Friday, January 11, 2013

Well I thought it was about time I posted something in 2013. I've been enjoying a little break from creating by reading over the past couple of years and thinking about all the different craft projects I've completed or at least started in that time. I've also been considering all the different things I'll like to get done this year so I hope you enjoy them as much as I will...

This week I did manage to do a little colouring and pulled out my trusty Copics in my new favourite shades to colour up an image for the Mad for Markers Challenge this month. The theme is Australian for Australia Day on Jan 26th so I thought I'd remember all the Aussies abroad who'll be having a colder Australia Day than me...

Aussie aussie aussie

>> Thursday, January 10, 2013

Hello there!
so australia day is almost upon us!!!
and this month is all about copic markers and australian images.
and what better way to say G'day and with a koala!
so here is my card i created.

I made this card with  Lawn Fawn- critters down under stamp set. i coloured the image with the following copic markers.

Then i used some lil inkers nesting rectangle stitches dies to cut out the image. i then used my Fiskars border punches - banners away and boundary waters, to embellish the card along with some buttons, twine and then a fiskars squeeze punch called scalloped heart to cut out the glitter heart. I finished off with a sentiment.

Don't forget you can still enter the challenge over on the right sidebar till the end of the month!
