Set to Sparkle

>> Thursday, July 19, 2012

Everytime I see this Greeting Farm image Dressy Ebony I think of Alice Cullen from Twilight....yes I loooovee Twilight. I've read all the books and seen the movies. So I thought I would colour her to look like Alice and also add some clear spica to her skin to make her sparkle. Then I thought if she is sparkling she'd be in the sunlight so I figured I would create a daytime scene for Alice.

Here is a close up of her sparkly skin.

The copics I used
Hair E25, E27, E29, E33
Skin E50, E51, E53, E93 and clear spica
Clothes, Shoes and headband, BV0000, BV00, BV02, BV04 and lavender spica.
Shadows BV0000

All copics and spicas are available over at Mad for Markers. Sammi also stocks a wide variety of stamps including ones from The Greeting Farm.

Don't forget to enter in the Winter Blues Challenge.  All you have to do is use Bs, BGs or BVs in your creations.

Thanks so much for stopping by

>> Tuesday, July 17, 2012

This month's Mad for Markers challenge is turning out some totally awesome projects from both the DT and the entries.

Here is my second inspiration card.

How amazing is this image, she's just the cutest, and of course being Mod Marci, she's definitely from the 60s, she just needs some little round blue John Lennon classes to finish her look off!

I created the background paper by flicking my copic marker from the centre out to the edge, I used quite a number of colours from the Bs; BGs and BVs to keep in with the theme this week.

Background
BV: 02; 04; 11; 13
B: 02; 04
BG: 15; 49

Image:
Skin:  E50; 51; 53; R11
Hair:  E40; 43; 44; 71 Sand spica

A christmassy copic coloured card

>> Thursday, July 12, 2012

Good  Morning all!,
I have to share with you today an card i made using the B, BV and BG colours.
I went with the Christmas theme again as these colours lend themselves so well.
Here is the card i designed.

And here are the copic markers i used.

I used a Pink cat studio digi image for this card and coloured with my B and BV markers. I then addes some sparkly flock on the white bits to get some texture. I cut from vellum the snowflake pattern for the border(memory box die)  and some snowflake's from glitter card(die-namic die). then i added a swirl and pieced all together.

These colours really came together well. You can buy them all over at the Mad 4 markers online shop and if you need a stamp or 2 they have it also!

Don't forget we are only 1/2 way though our challenge so make up a project and enter on the right side bar!!

Winter Blues

>> Thursday, July 5, 2012

Hi Everyone,
I am so excited, this is my very first post as a member of the design team for Mad for Markers.
Winter sure has hit hard, we have had a week with low temperatures in the minuses on most mornings and frosts that are lasting till lunch time. So the weather seems to be fitting in with this months challenge at Mad for Markers. The challenge for the month of July is Winter Blues, colouring with B's, BG's and BV's.

For my card this week I used The Greeting Farm's Miss Anya Hats Off stamp coloured with B's. This stamp and copics are all available at The Mad for Markers Store.

The copics I used were:
Shirt, boots and Hat - B05, B02, B00, B000, B0000.
Skirt - B37, B34, B32.
Skin - E53, E51, E50, E93.
Hair - E35, E31, E29, E25.
Shadows BV0000, BV00.

Down here if the mornings are cold and frosty the afternoons are usually gorgeous and sunny, so I added some orange to my card to add a little bit of sunshine to the winter blues. Here's hoping there is a little bit of sunshine to warm you on a cold winters day. I look forward to seeing your Winter Blues copic creations.

~ Gretchen.

Let us see your Bs; BGs or BVs

>> Tuesday, July 3, 2012

Hello everyone, it's Kasey here, this month the challenge at Mad for Markers is to use your Copic Markers and feature the B, BG or BV colour ranges.

To me, Bs and BGs are perfect for water and I turned straight to my new Mermaid Marci to create this card.

How cute is this little Mermaid Marci?  I used lots of dots as her background in all the Blues and Blue Greens that I'd used on her tail.  I also went over her scales with a clear spica pen, this adds just enough glimmer to those scales.

I coloured some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers with my copic markers so I had the perfect embellishments.

Colours used:
Skin:  E50; 51; 53; 93
Hair: E21; 31; 33; 35
Tail: B0000; 00; 02; 04; BG000; 11; 15; 18; 72; 75
Starfish: YR02; 04; 18

Don't have all the colours you need? Then head on over to the Mad for Markers store, you can even pick up this cute little Mermaid Marci.

The Mad for Markers design team are so excited to see your creations featuring these fabulous colour ranges Bs, BGs and or BVs.

Cheers,

A new Challenge! Winter Blues.........

>> Monday, July 2, 2012

Good Morning Everyone!
Well i hope you enjoyed last months challenge! How Hard was it! Even as designers we all had to think "outside the box" for that one!

This months challenge is not so hard. WINTER BLUES.....Using only B, BG and BV.

As we now are right in the middle of winter here in Australia, i am sure everyone can agree it is COLD!
But the colour range of B,BV and BG do not have to always be such cool colours, sure i would love to see icicles, cute characters and critters all rugged up in scarfs, hats and coats, but with BV and BG in the mix that can give such huge range to colour with.

The first card i have made to share today is using a whole bunch of BV and BG colours. I will be honest i did use 3 E colours to do skin....i did not want her to look like she had frostbite!! I also found that the darker BV colours were great to create hair and the lighter BV's are great for shadowing!

I used Furry friend Mae Digital image, along with a Fiskars border punch, and a dienamic die. The sentiment was a sticker from EAD designs.

Here are the Copic colours i used.

Along with the above pics i used E00 ,02 and 11 for the skin .

I have to admit that this looks a little christmassy which i was trying to stay away from so i made another card.

This card i tried to use a lot more BV's on the image. I wanted to share with you that you do not have to have your whole card looking christmassy when using these colours.

Here is what i came up with.

With this card i used Some Odd Girl stamp Holly Gwen, kaisercraft papers cock-a-doodle doo and the Gwen in bloom sentiment with embossing powder. the Polaroid shape i made on my PC and printed it out and roughed it up with distress inks.

Here are the copics i used.

So i cannot wait to see the creations you make with this colour challenge. If you are looking for the stamps i used or maybe another some odd girl stamp to colour or even a B,BV or BG to colour with go on over to the Mad 4 Markers store to get all your copic and stamping goodies!!!

Well good luck, and do not forget to enter your card or project in the right hand side bar this month!!!
And if you would like a second chance of winning head on over to My Blog where i am holding the same challenge this month also so link up your projects there too!

Tara :)
