Make A Wish

>> Thursday, December 23, 2010

Hi Everyone

How's your sanity holding up??? I hope you are not all getting too stressed out in the final run to Christmas Day. It's all very exciting though isn't it, I just love Christmas.

You know what is even more exciting though??? It's my Dad's birthday, 74 today!! Love you Dad!!

And guess what............he is coming home from the rehab centre tomorrow (well that's the plan) 10 weeks after he had his stroke. I can't tell you how thrilled we all are!! I just wish I could be there to spend Christmas Day with them but that's life.

Well, enough of my waffling on, it's time for me to share my card with you for the current Mad For Markers challenge - Anything Goes.

Now just to clarify, no this isn't my Dad's birthday card ,lol!

I did managed to get his card off to him in time this year! What a terrible time to have a birthday I reckon, must have been a real bummer when he was a kid.

I have used one of Mo's gorgeous images and the following Copics to colour

Skin - E000, E00, E11 and R20
Clothes - R81, R83, R85 and C1
Hair - E25, E29 and E53
Grass - YG91
I have also used a flourish (Jessie, White) from Flourish with a Bling that you can get from Sammi at the Mad For Markers store.

At first I left the flourish white but it just didn't seem right so I coloured it with my YG91 (except for when I picked up the wrong marker and coloured one leaf with YG93 and then tried to fix it, Oh no! don't look too close lol).

These flourishes are just fantastic. They are self adhesive and come in a range of colours. You can use the whole flourish on your project or cut them to suit as I did with my card. Very versatile!

For all your Copic and related supplies head on over to Mad For Markers online store.

Mad For Markers post to Australia and New Zealand and stock a large range of Copic Markers, Blending Card, Masking Paper etc.

You can also check out the store blog and challenge blog for tips, tutorials and inspiration.

Christmas Gift Box

>> Wednesday, December 22, 2010

Hello Copic fan’s!

I hope your all ready for the jolly fat man in the big red suit! I love Christmas but, it is always a relieve when it is over lol.
Anyway today is Wednesday and I’d love to share my latest Copic creation with you all. Remember the Mad for Marker’s challenge is “Anything Goe’s”, which I have to admit is always my favourite lol. I have to say I absolutely love my Copic creation today. It started out as a Kris Kringle gift for someone at work, but when I finished it I decided it was so darn cute that I had to keep it for myself lol. Here it is:

Isn’t Santa Edwin just gorgeous sitting on his big comfy chair?? Too cute!

I have used Copic’s to colour in the images ofcourse, but I also used them on the large Gardenia flower too. I didn’t have a red flower that would match the papers or red Copic’s I used. So I used the same Copic’s from Santa Edwin’s suit on the centre of the flower and now it matches perfectly.

I hope my Copic creation has provided some creative inspiration for you all. Remember Mad for Marker’s online store has all your Copic need’s covered at fantastic prices! Best wishes for a safe and happy Merry Christmas, and finger’s crossed Santa brings you a gift voucher from Mad for Marker’s :o)
Thanks for visiting and if you want more info on this project visit my blog HERE.

Goodmorning Copic Lovers,

This morning I have two little cards to share with you that I made quickly a few nights ago.  My auntie requested some birthday cards for girls so I quickly got to work and came up with these very simple ones.  The DP is Prima packaging, which I just love and I added some flowers, ribbons, lace and a simple sentiment.  I coloured in the fairy with Copics (of course)

Pinks: RV13, RV23, RV02
Skin: E21, E00
Hair: E33, E31, YR31

The second card I used a chipboard stem and Prima flowers to make a simple flower.  I coloured the chipboard in with a green copic marker (G14) and then inked the edges with Vintage Photo ink.  I inked the edges of the flower too so it has a distressed look as well.

Sometimes simple cards are nice...in fact I find myself steering more and more to making simple cards....hope you dont mind!

Thanks for popping by the Mad for Markers Blog.  I can see there are some gorgeous entries in the "Anything Goes" challenge...a perfect challenge for this time of year.

Good luck with your Christmas preparations!  If you havent picked out a pressie for yourself yet, why not head over to Sammi's store and spoil yourself!

Anything goes with Tilda

>> Thursday, December 16, 2010

Good morning everyone. It is Tracey today showing you the gorgeous Tilda in all her glory. I must admit I did colour up this stamp a few weeks back waiting for this challenge but only just used the sketch over at Friday Sketchers to create the card. It took me a while to find the DP to go with the colours on this. Unfortunately the bluey-grey of these BV markers do not match a lot but I found the perfect one from Kaisercraft.

I have used the 352gsm card with this card and OMG I am so in love with this card. If you haven't already preordered your card you 'need' to do it now. It is perfect card to use Copics with - it really does blend better than the thinner card. If you use Papertrey ink card than you will love this (hint hint Alleena). LOL.

Anyway a list of colours are at the bottom.

Markers used:
Skin: E000, 00, 21, 02
Hair: YR20, 21, E08
Dress/shoes: BV20, 23, 25, 29, R12, 14, 17
Shading: B0000, B000; G1, blender

A Bit Of Pink

>> Monday, December 6, 2010

Hello my crafty friends......

Another week rolls around and we are another week closer to Christmas. I think I am starting to panic, I have just realised how close it really is...... I think I lost a week there somewhere....

Anyway I have another creation to show you today. In keeping with our current challenge which is to use non traditional colours on a Christmas card I have made a card with pink and olive green. I am just in love with my olive green combo at the moment and I am teaming it up with just about every other colour going.

I chose pink this time so I could use some old Christmas papers I had which I think are actually from last years collection. I have added a small amount of gold paper in the background and tied it all up with a big pink bow. I coloured the image using the feathering technique which I don't do very often, but I love the effect it gives to this gorgeous little girl.

I hope you like my creation as much as I do. Make sure you check out some of the other Design Teams creations while you are here and why not pop over to The Stamp Spot where you will find some gorgeous products.

You still have a few days to get your creations into this current challenge so why not give it a go.

Digital Image; Mo's Christmas Fairy Holly

Copics Used;
Dress: YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97, R81, R83, R85, R89.
Hair; E33, E35, E37, E47.

Snowglobe; W1, W3, B0000, Clear Spica.

Alternative Christmas card

>> Thursday, December 2, 2010

Good morning Copic lovers. It is "I" Tracey here bringing you
a very alternative Christmas card indeed.
Now some of you know that I am an 'artist' - I do drawings
like the one on front of the card below. Up until I had kids I would
do one of these drawings for my MIL for her birthday/Christmas
but didn't have time after the kids came along.
Of course at that stage I didn't have Copic markers either.
If you check out my blog I have a pic of one of the drawings
using textas. Eeeeekkk...!!! Thank
heavens for Copic markers. So here is the Christmas card
using non traditional season colours. This was done on the
Neenah 352gsm card.

Here is the inside. As you can see the colour does not show through with
this thick card and it is excellent when you blend you colours.

Copics used:
Black Multiliner 0.5mm, BV29, BV25, BV23, BV20.

Enjoy your day.

Colour Me Untraditional

>> Thursday, November 25, 2010

Hi Copic fans!!

Thursday again that means it's my turn to inspire you to reach for your Copics and create yourself something fabulous.

The current challenge here on the Mad For Markers Challenge Blog is to create a Christmas Card - using copics to colour with non-traditional Christmas colours.

I am so excited to see all the fabulous cards already submitted. You guys are amazing!! If you haven't  checked them out yet you should, and there is still plenty of time for you to get your markers out and join in the fun.

For my card this week I have gone with one of Kenny K's fantastic images "Mistletoe"

The basic colour combo I have used is Brown, Blue an Green (there's a bit of orange in there too :-D ).

I've used a my Peach Spica Pen to add a little shimmer to the trim of her jacket and boots. Here's a photo to hopefully show it up a bit better.

Copics I have used for this image are:

Skin - E000, E00, E11 and R20
Hair - Y26, Y21, C1 and C3
Clothes and Boots - B91, B93, B97, (E53, E25 and Peach Spica Pen for trim)
Holly - B93, Y13 and R46

I also used E29 to colour the clear rhinestones for the corners.

I look forward to see your non traditionally coloured Christmas card!!

Hi Copic Lovers,

Its Alicia here.
This morning I have another Christmas card in untraditional colours.
I am actually making some head way with my Chrissie cards...but havent started my main bulk lot yet...I like all of them to be exactly the same.  These ones will be perfect to send out to the schools I have been teaching at this term.  Anyway onto the details about my card...

I coloured in another Cute LOTV Christmas bear...I have really fallen in love with these bears.  because of my DP (very, very old and was the last little bit of it) is all cool silvers and blues I didnt want to colour the bear brown so I opted for greys.  I actually love colouring with greys.  They blend so nicely together.

The colours I used are:
Greys: C-1, C-3, C-5, C-7
Blues for hat: BG09, BG05, B00
Star and ground: B60, BV23
Outline: BG10
Kindy Glitz

I cut the snowflakes out on my Cricut and covered them with Kindy Glitz as well.  I added silver, white, blue gingham and white mesh ribbons.  The base card is Next to Navy and Whisper White.  I kept the design pretty simple.

Have you entered the Mad for Markers Christmas Card challenge yet?  See what you can pull out from your stash to come up with something in untraditional colours...it is quite interesting and fun!  Link up your creations here so we can all come around and visit you.

Pop on over to Sammi's M4M store to add to your Copic collection or begin your collection...you won't be disappointed you did.  Copic markers are so beautiful to colour with.  They just glide onto the paper and leave such vibrant colours on your card.

Thanks for stopping by,
Alicia xx

I have found a little wreath which I have added some holly to and some hanging baubles.
I also added a beautiful Chrstmas Tree from Scrap Matts.
Copics;
Nightdress; YG91, YG93, YG95, YG99.
